Summary

Job Description

This position reports to an Information Systems Supervisor within Information Systems. The Systems Analyst Programmer performs the majority of his/her assigned tasks in a project team environment with direct supervision from the project supervisor or senior member of the project team. Most job activities are performed in the realm of small systems, subsystems, or programs, and their general relationship to the project or system. The incumbent works closely with members of the Information Systems team, systems and user business analysts, data warehouse staff, other enterprise wide technical staff, as well as the internal and external users to ensure user/customer requests, problems, and questions are researched and resolved in a timely manner. An individual in this position is able to formulate logical statements of business problems and devise effective solutions to these problems through the use of proposed manual procedures, an existing automated system or a proposed automated system. Major Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Work in all aspects of Oracle Application design and development including working with underlying Oracle applications, database architecture, as well as Oracle database and development tools which includes Oracle applications11i , Oracle 9i database, PL/SQL, Discoverer, XML Publisher, Unix, Workflow Builder, OA Framework.
• Work in Oracle Application Modules (ERP/CRM) which includes Oracle Financials,OIC.

Summary

Act as lead in installation, configuration, administration and support of UNIX systems (AIX 5.3/6.1, RHEL 4.x/5.x, Suse Linux, Korn shell, Perl, SAN, NAS) and related components to achieve high availability, stability and performance for the various business applications supported.

• Provide technical solutions and guidance for all aspects of UNIX environment including AIX/RHEL/Suse Linux.
• Responsible for Performance monitoring and tuning, OS hardening, problem management, disaster recovery and business continuity.
• Suggest ways to improve/expand upon the efficiency of UNIX operations, networking technologies, policies, procedures and best practices.
• Design, implement infrastructure procedures, proposals, plans, and guidelines for system configuration, deployment, and support.
• Apply packages and security patches on AIX and Linux servers.
• Work as part of a project team to coordinate development and determine project scope and limitations
• Apply packages and security patches on AIX and Linux servers.
• Develop new UNIX scripts (Korn shell and Perl scripting) to support task automation and monitoring activities. Provide 24x7 rotating on-call support.

Perform Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) of legacy systems with Web Intensive Applications enabling reuse of IT investments rather than rebuilding and designing API's.Design applications using BPMS/J2EE/MVC frameworks. Ensure better performance at application level and database level.
• Involve in hands on programming and code walk through.Coordinate with PM's/Leads/Analysts.
• Co-ordinate with BA/QA and involve in Testing plans.
• Use tools and technologies such as Agile/Rational methodologies, OOA&D, UML, EAI, J2EE, Java, JSP, RUP, Struts, JSF, EJB, XML Suite, GUI/Web Interfaces, MVC frameworks, ORM tools, BPMS, RDBMS on UNIX and Windows.
